The HC3-Xbase is the entry-level product in the robbe HeliCommand flybarless system series, for controlling flybarless helicopters with the H1 and H3-120° linkage. Flybarless model helicopters are significantly more manoeuvrable due to their reduced weight, and typically deliver about 15 % more performance. The HC3-Xbase results in huge performance, not to mention the elimination of the set-up procedure on the vulnerable flybar mechanics. The system´s outstanding feature is its overall precision, i.e. in extreme dynamic manoeuvres (F3N style), aerobatic manoeuvres (F3C), and stable hovering. The helicopter tracks accurately through all manoeuvres, i.e. without any trace of unwanted effects, and with maximum ´locked-in´ characteristics. All this is achieved with minimum set-up work due to the intelligent and carefully optimised regulatory algorithms. The HC3-Xbase has full 3D capability due to its high-quality latest-generation silicon MEMS sensors. It also incorporates a very high-quality ultra-fast tail rotor gyro. No separate tail gyro required! The system also includes symmetrical torque control. The further improvement in tail holding power is achieved by coupling the tail rotor gyro internally with the collective pitch data from the rotor head control system. Naturally the system is also suitable for flybarless scale helicopters (two-blade and multi-blade), and for other types of flybarless helicopter such as trainers etc., with the H1 or H3 120° linkage. An additional feature is that the flybarless system can be switched off, allowing you to fly "normal helicopters" with a flybar head; in this state only the tail rotor gyro function is active. It is equally suitable for helicopters powered by electric motor, glow engine, or turbine. The system supports all current analogue, digital and brushless servos, including narrow-pulse types (760 µs) for the tail rotor (e.g. robbe-Futaba S 9251 or BLS 251). The base version provides the most commonly used swashplate variants H1 and H3-120°, and the system can be upgraded to cater for more swashplate types. The HC3-Xbase can be updated to the full functionality of the HC3-Xtreme by means of an Internet upgrade using the USB adapter supplied in the set. The system can operate as a pure tail rotor gyro without further accessories, e.g. if you wish to test-fly a new model with a flybar head, then plan to convert it to a flybarless system subsequently. In this case you do not need to purchase a separate tail gyro; all you have to do is switch off the Rigid function. The swashplate mixing is carried out by the HC3-Xbase, i.e. only a simple transmitter is required. With its CNC-machined aluminium case and elegant design the unit easily matches the current high standards of quality of the major helicopter manufacturers. The ultra-compact design and flexible provision for installation make the unit suitable for use in virtually any helicopter. Set-up work is reduced to a minimum, not least due to the clear separation between the gain settings for the rotor head gyros and the tail gyro, using two independent auxiliary channels. Direct USB connection for fast programming; the convenient set-up software and operating instructions can be downloaded at no cost from the website. The leads between receiver and HC3-Xbase feature plug-in connectors at both ends. The system features a gold-plated circuit board and the latest generation of MEMS sensors acting on all three axes. Direct connection facilities to the new single-cable receivers (serial pulse output SP), such as the robbe R6007SP FASST receiver, robbe/Futaba S-BUS and Spektrum/JR satellites (in which case the primary receiver is not required). In this case the throttle output and a second output (e.g. governor, retractable undercarriage, lighting system, etc.) are available directly at the HC3-Xbase. Specifications: HC3-Xbase
